Jim Bob Salter

President and Principal Shareholder

Jim Bob joined Infinity Contractors Inc. as its inception in 1994 as a field laborer.  Growing up close to his father and the rest of his extended family with humble beginnings in the construction industry led him to learn mechanical systems, operations, and hard work by default.  His part time assistance and full time summer work in the field led to valuable learning experiences and has allowed him to accept large challenges at an early age.  He joined Infinity Contractors Inc. full time after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2000.  He has worked as a project and operations manager for a large portion of Infinity Contractors’ total volume since it was established.  He has brought Infinity some notable projects such as the Cabela’s Retail Store in Fort Worth & Allen and the Southeast Water Purification Plant in Houston.  During his tenure Jim Bob has helped along with the team at Infinity Contractors to be recognized with many Safety Awards and the ABC North Texas Excellence in Construction Award for Cabela’s and the ABC National Excellence in Construction Award for the Wyndham Hotel Tunnel Project.  In 2010 he began to increase his shareholdings with the company and currently obtains the overall operations of the business including estimating, projects, service, and staff.  Jim Bob himself will tell you, “I am proud of where the Salter family and Infinity Contractors has come from – roots up.”  Our employees and management staff have worked diligently over the last 18 years to build our reputation as a preferred Mechanical Contractor of choice by our customers.  We will continue to have slow controlled growth here and be really good for a few select customers instead of trying to be everything for everyone.  Our team works with the motto of We Commit, We Will Deliver – No Excuses!  Our company desires to work with Customers, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Employees who follow the same suit.”

Jim founded Infinity in 1994 to perform all facets of mechanical contracting, including mechanical systems service and maintenance and has subsequently developed it into a successful business with annual revenues exceeding $13 Million and total installations nearing $200 Million.  His focus from day one has been to become a premier mechanical contractor and to maintain that reputation by providing a standard of quality, value, and service that not only meets specifications, but exceeds expectations.  Jim has remained loyal to the mechanical industry throughout his career.   He started in 1974 by working ‘in the trenches’, successfully completing Plumber & Pipefitter Apprenticeship Training and becoming a journeyman pipefitter in 1978.  He quickly worked his way up to project superintendent on projects throughout the DFW Metroplex.  In 1984, he joined Gulf/American Constructors in San Angelo as project manager/superintendent.  In 1987, he joined Terry Broyles in San Diego and became Vice President of Field Operations for Pacific Rim Mechanical Contractors.  Missing his family and friends, he returned to the DFW area and went to work for Terry’s father, Jimmy Broyles, as general superintendent with Trinity Contractors in 1988.  He started Infinity Contractors in 1994.  Jim Salter is one of only a few individuals to have been accepted into the MJ Neeley School of Business without an undergraduate degree.  He subsequently attained his MBA from Texas Christian University in 2002.  He has a current Master Plumbing License, Master Medical Gas License, Refrigeration & A/C License and is an Associate Member of ASHRAE.  With 40 years of experience, Jim Salter offers a wealth of knowledge in many aspects of the mechanical contracting business.  That experience has landed Infinity Contractors into some notable territory as a multiple year recipient of INC 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America, 2011 Pipe Trades Book of Giants, and 2012 ENR Top 600 Specialty Contractors in the Nation.  He’s trusted to delivering on his commitments to employees, partners and customers along the way.
