At Infinity Contractors, we understand that effective safety practices reduce workplace deaths, injuries, and illnesses. Additionally, it creates increased production, quality, and employee morale. For these reasons, from the Company President down, we emphasize the importance of safety on all of our job sites. The emphasis begins during the hiring process where each employee must complete a rather lengthy workbook and test regarding safety. From a continuing education standpoint, we have weekly safety meetings requiring ALL employees to complete the training regimen established for the week. As an added incentive, each employee, as part of their review process, is rated on their respective safety habits. This directly affects their part of the annual employee bonus distribution.
Infinity Contractors strictly enforces company policies for safety glasses, hard hats, safety shoes, and other personal protective equipment. We stock each worksite with first-aid supplies and we train employees and management in emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.
Even with as much emphasis as we put on safety and making sure all areas are as safe as possible, we understand we can miss things from time to time. Because of this, we have safety consultants conduct an assessment annually. This assessment is taken very seriously with all “negative items” being corrected in a very timely manner.
Finally, all work-related incidents, including near misses, injuries, and illnesses, are thoroughly investigated to determine cause and corrective actions are implemented to ensure that the same type of incident never occurs again.
Though we may take this portion of our business to extreme, we feel the benefits derived far out weigh the cost. The result is a tremendous dividends payout, including increased employee moral, quality in workmanship, and reduced worker’s comp rates.
Infinity Contractors is a multiple year recipient of the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (S.T.E.P.) Award from ABC-North Texas for our dedication to keeping our workforce safe and highly trained.
